Shaking the Thanksgiving Hangover

Getting back to business after a long holiday weekend is always a challenge. No matter how much I love what I do, I feel a little tired and slow the day after a long vacation. Today’s no different. It’s almost like I’ve got a turkey hangover looming from all the leftovers I ate this weekend.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving (and with hopes that this article will help me get me back in the thick of things), I want to talk about some of this things I am thankful for.

  • Automated Marketing: I picked up my phone on Saturday and there were 17 missed calls and 14 messages waiting to be returned. 10 of those messages were people calling me to sell their house. I haven’t spent time setting up a marketing campaign since late August. But since my marketing is automated, the leads come in whether I’m working or not.
  • Professional Success Team: Last Monday I added a Real Estate agent to my success team. She was the Buyer’s Agent for a flip I recently completed. This new agent was professional, insightful and (most importantly) got her buyer to the closing table on schedule. A good group of professionals is vital to having a successful business. They’ll help you do your job better and easier.
  • Stability in the Housing Market: Regardless of where you are investing, housing has improved. Areas like Washington, DC are booming, and there’s even news that Detroit real estate is in recovery. Stability is a nice thing to have.
  • Family and Friends: I cannot be too thankful for my wonderful friends and family. They are a blessing to me every day.

Well I think that did it. My mind is much less cloudy. I can’t wait to get back to the game.

Real estate is an incredibly fun business to be a part of. And it’s always nice to take a moment to remember those things for which we can be thankful.
